There's too many categories to choose from, and it's impossible to generalize it with a points systems because there are goods and bads to each category....food, entertainment, etc...........

I'll just say I like watching "Whose Line is it Anyways?", Kenshin, J-Rock, Korean STAGE PREFORMERS, Taiwanese/HK singers, Western Alternative, Jazz, Lounge, Hard Rock, Francis Ng, Edward Norton, Lea Teoni, and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah, I'm a varied kinda guy. I can't choose between Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
French_Fries
both food are expensive.... i think korean is tastier and spicier.. japan is just pretty for the eyes

drams, japan's, shorter and sweet. Korean, too long and draggy. Plus Japan has animes..

music, both.
machinemachine
I prefer Japanese food because I think it is healthier i.e. not too spicy.

I prefer Japanese singers because I think they have been popular considerably longer and more developed compared to theier Korean counterparts. K-pop seems to be copying J-pop.

But dramas. Hahaha. It's obvious which country is better. Think Winter Sonata!

Thanks.

i'd go for japan. their music is good, they have alot of different music styles available, rock, pop, r&b, hiphop and alot of artists actually can sing. their food is great, it's not only sushi and sashimi, but they also have other delicious things. and i prefer j-drama's over k-drama's, because the latter are too draggy in my opinion. but i do think k-comedies are hilarious!
♥luvergal♥
food- i prefer japanese food because im not really into the whole korean bbq thingy
singers-i like korean singers...dont ask why...theres just this thing about them
dramas-hmmm havent really watched any

but one thing for sure....i really want to go to japan:)smile.gif

Hmm...

Music: Japan. Japanese has a more rhythmic quality to it, as opposed to the tonality of Korean and Chinese... Japanese just sounds so nice! Plus, I think Jpop is where it all started, and then filtered out into Korea and China. But I will admit that I am a bigger fan of Kpop in general -- because I like the R&B beats and ballads, as opposed to the overly-cheery sounds of Jpop sometimes -- but I think Japan has more eclectic ranges of music and certainly more uniqueness to their genres (even though Korean stars are argued to be more vocally talented).

Food: I love sushi, and I really like the lite Japanese diet...but I'm not a fan of sashimi at all (my friend always teases me that I can never become fully immersed in Japanese culture because I won't eat the raw fish. Sorry, but I don't really like nausea and stomach pains). I am a HUGE fan of the vast majority of Japanese food. Although I don't mind kimchi, Korean barbecue, and their jajjangmyun ... I heard that there isn't too much variety... and that Korean food is extremely salty, spicy, and heavily flavored. But I like food in general... but I think that the light Japanese food is better on my stomach and my tastebuds... so I think they both tie for food. It just depends on what I'm in the mood to eat!

Dramas/TV: Don't like the Korean stuff, too long and melodramatic. Some Japanese stuff is just TOO out-there for me, but I love anime! I like Taiwanese dramas the best. Korean dramas always have those repetitive (and annoying) love triangles/squares/houses that should REALLY JUST STOP. Japanese variety shows... eh. But Japanese dramas are usually short, sweet, funny, and right to the point. They aren't overly long nor annoying. It kinda irritates me how a vast majority of Korean variety shows are always prerecorded and that very few of them are live recordings. On Japanese shows, I at least feel everything's impromptu and their comedians really bring a spark to the show. Korean variety shows always feel a little stiff and a bit scripted to me at times.

Style/Fashion: Japan definitely wins for this one. Korean style rings too much of the American style for me. Japanese people always feel more unique in what they dress (even though their style may be similar to the American style). Korea is trying to get too much from BOTH worlds... and they just end up looking like trendy Americans... Japanese people have much more individuality and uniqueness to their style (just look at all the 'subgroups' of Japanese society!). Besides, the Japanese style has infiltrated Korea and China so much... just think Sanrio and Hello Kitty...! I Japanese people are very unique in their style, but Koreans have a very trendy and a very classic fashion sense. But it's not as unique as the Japanese... and Tokyo is still the fashion capital of Asia. I would probably dress like a Korean for everyday, because I can't pull off the outlandish styles of the Japanese -- certainly not in America! -- but I do like the Japanese style more. I still think a lot of the modern trends and such came from Japan... so... I'm more inclined to lean towards Japan.

Overall: Japan! In these few categories, Japan is where it all started... and then traveled to Korea; so of course I'm going to go for the original!

I definitely prefer Korean Dramas over Japanese, well actually I basically prefer kdramas over any asian-type drama...so i guess that doesn't really count.lol. As for music, i think both are good, they sound sorta similar to me, but i guess most music have their similarities. Korean food is really tasty and spicy, but i love sushi so i guess i'd prefer Japanese even though sushi isn't the only thing they eat. For fashion, i'd definitely pick Japan; they have the cutest/unique styles.
j0wie
i love both, korean food and jap food r both very yummy, but i lyk korean drama and music better
icibritestarz

Food - Japan
Music - Korea
Drama - none. I prefer Chinese dramas. But I haven't yet seen Japanese dramas, so I can't choose. But I know that I really dislike Korean dramas. The only dramas I ever liked was Full House and Dai Cheung Gum/Da Chang Jing... or whatever that Drama was called. biggrin.gif
Phish
Japan actually has many good dramas and in many different genres. Its just that there is this korean craze right now so j-dramas are a bit neglected.
---cant beat j-horror though
KL_Mystic
food: japan (SUSHI d^-^cool.gif

music: I prefer korean music but japanese songs are cool too.

dramas: Depends but right now i like japanese dramas, korean dramas are getting draggy.

fashion style: I love Japanese style (not the extreme ones) I've seen outfits in the their Seventeen mags & they're so ADORABLE.
sweet_honeydew
FOOD: japanese food because it's more healthy...well koreans like to eat a lot of spicy food and I can't take spicy food!

MUSIC: ummm I think I listen to more jpop than kpop...haha so I guess japanese? well I know more japanese singers than korean singers

DRAMA: I like japanese dramas more haha well that's because I'm hooked up to watching (yamapi's dramas) LOL but some korean dramas are okay but most of the time they're pretty draggy so ya...and it's always those sad love romance dramas! there's more variety of things to watch in japanese dramas...

FASHION: I like the japanese style too but ya definitely not the extreme ones but the cute and cool ones are okay!
SW_MYLOVE

I prefer Japaneses culture all the way
they interest me more than the Korean entertainment
plus the Koren language is hard on my ears sometimes
Darklionheart
Dont know much about Korean stuff. Just started watching Korean drama.

Anime - Japanese animes are good, but too many of them to watch it. I have never seen a Korean anime :S.

Food - I know that Japan has a lot of nice culinary dishes. I watch SmapxSmap every week how they make food for other Japanese stars. I heard that the Japanese are making pizza's even better than the Italians biggrin.gif.
Dont know about Korean food at all.

Drama - There are not very good Japanese drama's at the moment after I have watched Densha Otoko. And the Korean drama My Girl was very good, it was definitely worth to see it tongue.gif.

Music - I like both Music, althought cant fully understand what they are singing. But I like anyway KPOP and JPOP smile.gif.

Fashion - Both fashion are good. Always trendy people in both countries.

Folks - Most of the japanese folks are polite (I was there last summer). Dont know about Korean folks.
~IcyC4t~
japanese of course. i won't say they have the best food there but they do have a variety of selections. i'm not saying korean food is bad or anything.. but japanese seems more appealing to me
tekkamatch
Both are very creative in the style of cooking but the taste the same after u eat too much of it clapping.gif
hpfan
Food - Japanese, i just love sushi
Music - I don't really know any singers of either.
Drama - Korean drama are totally more addicting.
cutie_princez
I prefer japanese food..sushi..mmm. Singers and Dramas I prefer korean.I have much more interest in Korean entertainment than Japan.
loongloong
In drama sure Korean drama is just... boring...
Loads of crying, then dragging love between the guy n the girl, saying guy is relative of girl or something, then either the guy or the girl would die
Just bored......
ladynee
Japanese of course!
Favorite food: SUSHI!! Theres this Japanese ramen noddle that I love to eat...its my favorite type of ramen. Their animation is out of the world!! Example, Studio Ghibli!! LOVE HAYAO MIYAZAKI creations! (I think I've seen every film that have been released in the U.S.) Uh...their dramas...YES I have been watching Japanese dramas nonstop these days. dance.gif They're very good...their stories are very different. I haven't seen a drama where it has the same elements as another drama. Hmm...music...of course, that got me into Japanese stuff. Huge fan of Japanese rock bands like Laruku, Dir en Grey, Miyavi...the list can go on and on. I have to admit, they have more options.

Korean stuff is cool too. I use to like it but I became kind of bored. The dramas that I've seen seemed to have the same story too often: one girl, two guys, one mean girl. Crying, crying, and crying. Death at the end...I'm a happy person. I've seen comedies but some of the comedy tend to annoy me. In most comedies that I've seen the girl is the silly one and the guy always bosses her around. I don't like that. Music from Korea...I only listen to ballads from dramas. Once in a while when I get the opportunity I listen to Korean rock, there isn't enough rock bands in Korea is there? I'm not into pop. Hate pop no matter where its from. n_thumbdown.gif Korean food? I haven't tried a lot but I did try Kimchi...didn't like it. I've also tried loads of noodle brands from Korea but I don't stick to them too long.

But dramas. Hahaha. It's obvious which country is better. Think GTO, Majo No Jouken, Beautiful Life, Long Vacation, Nobuta Wo Produce! whistle.gif
little match girl

Food: Korea. I totally can't stand the sight of raw sushi! They erk me! tongue.gif

Music: No comments. I hardly listen to music anyway.

Drama: Both. What I like about Jdramas is that they are short and sweet, not too draggy. Kdramas are sometimes very melodramatic, with a long and fixed plot. But once in a while, you get good and addictive dramas like Goong!

Anime/Manga: Japan. Thank goodness of the Japanese anime and manga! smile.gif

Fashion: Korea. Although Japan is said to be the leader in Asian fashion, I somewhat find what those hippy Japanese youths are depicted to be wearing in those imported Japanese mags, totally not my style. I prefer the more casual Korean style.

Soccer: Dae Han Min Gook! Go Reds!

sugarisallineed
Food: both are good. sushi is good, spicy food =D especially the noodles

Music: japanese is rock-y. i'm not much into jrock. korean is beat-y they can dance really well and good lyrics.

Drama: i love korean dramas. haven't seen 1 japanese drama. i've heard of good japanese dramas. koreans are really into the plot and love stuff.

Anime/Manga: haven't really heard of korean manga. not into anime and manga but japanese is the original and the best.
asalie
Food: Man, I can't choose. Japanese? Korean? I give up.
Dramas: Korean dramas. Nothing not to love abt korean dramas.
Music: Japanese.
Fashion: Korean. Japanese's fashion is way too extreme and not very practical.
lb-lb
i'm into a mixture of both.

i like listening to korean music a tiny little bit more and i think korean celebrities are better looking.... infatuated.gif

i like watching japanese anime and i prefer japanese food more.... dance.gif

so it's hard to choose. thumbsup.gif
Ngoc_An
JAPAN ALL THE WAY! haha
omg.. look at all those J-rockers girls! Japanese can sing, they have style and they are talented! Their manga/anime is waaaay better than Korean's.
Their dramas are also very good, the plot is not dragging too much like the Korean dramas. Oh.. let's not talk about the food.. *drooling*
hehe.. however.. this doesn't mean that I dislike Korean in any way.
Korea is such a beautiful country with a very interesting culture. and the guys are just WOW! (girls too for that matter) I just like Japan better. Still.. there's something about Korean dramas and music... I don't know.. they are like:
"Must... watch... must... listen..." lol
mochi_icecream
Food= Japanese; not just for the taste but also presentation. Besides, I love sushi but the fish has to be super fresh.

Music= 50/50 on this one. I think Japan's got a lot of variety. Different genres of music are popular in Japan, whereas in Korea, the most popular type of music seems to be either ballads or hip hop. BUT the hip hop and the ballads that come out of Korea are good! Hard rock, folk, jazz, may not be mainstream in Korea but the stuff that they are known for, especially their ballads, the songs are excellent.

Drama = Korea wins this one hands down. Korea's got the best drama in Asia.
missk
food... i like both... as for drama and series...and movies... and singers and actors... i like Korean a lot more. but i do like japanese anime.
George
Japanese food is my favourite, I just love it so much. The great thing about japanese food is that it is healthy aswell. I haven't seen many japanese and korean dramas so I can't really compare. I really enjoy japanese anime though.
Sugar_icecream
both are good in their own way,
I like Korean series and drama, but prefer japanese food. Manga, both Korean and Japanese are good but for the drawing of Manga , I prefer Japanese drawing.
chiclete
I actually like both but if I had to choose between korean and jap food, prob be jap.
I don't listen to a lot of jap music, so it would be split but I love korean drama, it's a lot better than jap.
corpntachan
i LIKE JAPAN!!! LOL! japan series are cool too. Like attack no.1 that starred by ueto aya. It was COOL
Sweetwind23
Food: I like both. Depends on the mood.
Music: I like Kpop better, but i like Jrock!
Anime: Definelty Japan!
Drama: OF course Korean... Hands down... Korean men are SOO fking HOT. Faints!! Droolss!!
Fashion: Definetly Korean (more elegant, and pretty).
Japan fashion is cute, but too extreme and unrealistic.
